INFORMATION

The head of Northland Bank tends to come off as incredibly cool-headed and calm, expertly hiding everything behind a deceivingly kind smile and eloquent words. As one of the richest men in Teyvat, the banker is known and feared by all in his world. Those who owe debts to the bank know well the lengths Pantalone will go in order to recover lost money. It's as he says, people often comment that the bank's true currencies are 'blood and tears'. The banker also has a rather flirty, sassy side to him. He's not above the use of seduction to get what he wants or needs, and he's also certainly not one to keep his true feelings on certain matters to himself.

Having originated from an incredibly impoverished family, Pantalone values his wealth nearly completely over his own physical health. His unfortunate upbringing caused a dislike of the gods to churn inside him, as not only did he feel abandoned by luck, but also was never blessed with a Vision no matter how much he suffered. Pantalone harbors incredible jealousy and envy towards Vision-holders, but he also despises them. It's somewhat of a well-told "secret" that the Regator is willing to pay a pretty penny for dead visions—should a Fatuus come to him with one to sell. Why he keeps them is unknown to most.

Regardless of all that, while he is the type of person to care more about money than other material or emotionally-important goods, Pantalone does believe in equal exchange. Every transaction he makes must share in equal value, be that in the moment or toward the bottom line. This means he dislikes charity, and looks upon beggars or people who 'aren't working hard enough for their mora' with disdain. That being said, his incredibly expensive contributions to the Fatui can easily be disproved as 'charity', as he is merely feeding a cause which he believes will pay off greatly for him and everyone else in the end.

  POWERS & ABILITIES

  • Electro Delusion
Pantalone wields an Electro Delusion given to him by the Tsaritsa as a gift; given the fact that he lacks a Vision. While Pantalone does not suffer any strange side-effects in relation to the Delusion, the tradeoff for its usage is physical harm. His arms are incredibly scarred with electrical burns from using the Delusion, so he often resorts to utilizing it when it is absolutely necessary.

  • Mathematician
Regrator is incredibly good with numbers, and is capable of quickly solving mathematical problems with ease without the need to write down the processes.

  • Marksman
Furen's alternate mode of defense before using the Delusion is the myriad of weapons he often hides in his person. Most of these are camouflaged as everyday items, but others are often merely hidden in his coats or rooms. Such as elementally-charged guns (namely a revolver which he keeps hidden in his coat; to be used with his delusion), daggers hidden as walking canes, ect.

IMPORTANT PORTRAYAL NOTES & POTENTIAL CONNECTIONS

  • I often headcanon Furen (Pantalone) and Baizhu to be siblings, separated by the circumstances of the village being stricken with disease (as described in his biography). That being said, I'd like to avoid writing them in a romantic sense in ANY roleplay I enter him into.

  • Typically, I write Furen as having received a Mastectomy from Il Dottore as part of gender-affirming care in his older years. Usually in exchange for a very large sum of Mora, or some other kind of favor.

  • Given his background, it's a possibility that Pantalone collaborates with the children of the Hearth (Lyney, Lynnette, and Freminet) in order to eliminate predatory individuals in Snezhnaya's high ranks; passing their information, location, names, ect. along to the trio for disposal. This is also done in exchange for direct funding in regards to their magic acts.

  • Furen tends to refer to Childe/Ajax as "Jiang". This literally just means Ginger.

  • The inclusion, depiction and references to hypersexuality in my version of Pantalone are NOT an invitation to initiate sexually-explicit roleplay with me at random. You WILL be blocked if things are not discussed beforehand.

  • Pantalone does not worship the Tsaritsa as much as he respects her for her willingness to change the natural order he so despises.

  HEADCANONS

  • Pantalone knows how to perform coin tricks, and can often be found messing with a single coin whenever he finds himself in need of fidgeting about.

  • While he finds cooking fun, he rarely does so himself. The lack of practice makes it so the man’s ability in the kitchen remains less than desirable—horrifying, even.

  • Due to his constant and often unwilling participation in sexual activity during his young age, Pantalone dislikes being touched without his permission, and especially by people he does not know. However, Pantalone also suffers from Hypersexuality stemming from that same trauma. Aside from the expected self-deprecation that comes with it and the heightened desire for sex, he struggles a lot with his contradicting aversions and desires.

  • Pantalone has a habit of hoarding items of differing values in his residences. There’s a whole slew of different things, from dead visions, to jewelry, to simple trash like old paperwork, and other similar items. Some things are legitimately worthless, but he keeps them “just in case”. Frankly, the only reason why his living spaces are neat and well-kempt is due to his servants and maids.

  • Pantalone has a very strong distaste for the gods—the divine; immortal creatures that do not know human suffering or any sort of difficulty.

HISTORY

Pantalone was born in Liyue, to a family of four which resided in a humble village in the outskirts of Liyue's main territories. When Furen was around ten, the village was stricken by a plague, which took away the lives of his parents. Furen was separated accidentally from his sibling, who he assumed dead at the time. Thus, he ran away, seeking to escape the sickness and decay that remained in his hometown.Furen wandered Liyue's wilderness until he was taken in by a family from a neighboring village. They were poor, but they did what they could to survive. However, as years went on, the family's struggles worsened. Seeking to help the family that had saved his life, Furen chose to seek out assistance in the city. There, he was approached by a foreign man of higher standing.
This man—a snezhnayan politician—offered to give Pantalone a hefty sum of mora to be his 'assistant', or so he said.

The job seemed simple enough at that time for the boy, now merely fifteen. Simply help around the other's estate, doing simple tasks for the man who was all too busy. Not a hard thing to do, though Furen would have to make a rather long trip to Snezhnaya in order to do it all. With a contract signed, Furen bid a temporary goodbye to his foster parents, as he set out to work under the wealthy man.(CW: Grooming, CSA — non-descriptive)
For the duration of his stay with him, the teen was subjected to an increasingly uncomfortable set of tasks mostly relating to the man himself, all of which were designed to escalate further and further until the unthinkable occurred. In a short time, he found himself ensnared beneath the care of a person who wanted far more than just simple household labor.

Furen was kept in the estate, unable to leave or communicate with his family, even if the man assured him that the agreed sums were going to them. The teen endured because of this (and a general fear for his own safety), even as he was forced to trade in his body for the life-sustaining mora that would keep his family afloat.

With time, things got much worse. Not only was the nobleman he had been 'hired' by abusing him, Furen was also subjected to the fantasies of his friends and socialites. This period was undoubtedly one of the more damaging to him as a person... Furen's self-image degraded significantly, and his perception of himself as an object was internalized to some degree. There came a time where it was simply too much, having suffered far more than he could bear both physically and emotionally.Seeking a way out, he broke into the politician's office in the middle of the night, where he discovered a set of letters pertaining to himself. These revealed two things: one which he already knew, the other which caused Furen to burn with rage. After all that time, all the hurt, the constant abuse and degradation—his family had never received a dime. As far as they knew, Furen had simply run away, never to be seen again at the first opportunity for a better life.

With this knowledge, the young man (having recently become eighteen), armed himself with a plan. Meticulously using the disgusting pigs that had taken advantage of his youth for years, he pitted the greedy against one another. He knew everything about them, the things they often kept beneath wraps witnessed by his eyes alone. In time, they had murdered each other, or torn their empires apart at the whispered suggestions of the politicians ward. All that remained was the accursed politician... the likes of which he disposed of with his own two hands. With the man dead, Pantalone feigned ignorance in the eyes of the public. As the only 'heir' of the dignitary, Pantalone lived beneath his wealth for the coming years. Admitting himself into school, he made it his goal to rise to the very place which had been left vacant by a well-placed dagger. And in time…Pantalone became the head of the Northland Bank, and for his place in Teyvat's economy, later also became a vital part of the Tsaritsa's Fatuus, as a Harbinger no less. Now being in the place of the man who once terrorized him and controlled his life, Pantalone seeks to fulfill the ambitions of the Fatui. And in the process, he also seeks to do good by the horrible mistakes of his predecessor. By using his position to dispose of questionable characters in the ranks of high Snezhnayan society, Pantalone rights the wrongs of those who hurt many like himself.

NPCS

JIN, CHRYSES

A cat that Pantalone rescued near Zapolarny Palace, right before the start of a blizzard. While he originally just "found it in his cold, dead, heart" to help the cat somewhere warm to prevent it from freezing to death, the banker very quickly got rather attached to the feline. Now sporting expensive jewel-studded collars and eating only the best quality cat food Teyvat has to offer, Chryses lives a life of luxury far from the hardships suffered as a mere stray in the cold streets of the snow-ridden kingdom.
